Terms of service

Terms of service.

These terms govern your use of Pharos. They also explain the source labels, forecasts, and limitations that apply to figures shown in the product.

Draft, pending legal review. This document was written from what the software verifiably does. Every point marked in colour needs a decision from counsel before publication, and the document as a whole should be reviewed rather than adopted as written.

Agreement

These terms are between you and [NEEDS COUNSEL: registered entity name] and govern your use of Pharos. By creating a workspace you accept them. If you accept on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorized to bind it.

Your account

You are responsible for the accuracy of the details you provide, for the security of your sign-in credentials, and for the actions of people you invite to your workspace. Tell us promptly at [NEEDS COUNSEL: monitored security contact address] if you believe an account has been compromised.

Provider credentials and your authority to connect them

You confirm you are permitted to connect the provider accounts you connect, and that the keys you supply are reporting or admin billing keys intended for this purpose. Pharos uses them only to call the endpoints named on the security page. You may revoke a key at the provider at any time, which ends our access immediately.

What the figures are, and are not

Pharos reports figures derived from what your providers report and what you upload. Each figure carries one of three states: matched to an invoice, reported by the provider and not yet invoiced, or estimated by Pharos from documented prices and observed history. Estimates are labelled wherever they appear.

Forecasts are projections, not commitments. A provider may restate its own usage or billing data, in which case Pharos’s figures change with it.

Pharos is not a system of record for your accounts, and it is not accounting, tax, or investment advice. It is a reporting and analysis tool. Do not use it as the sole basis for a filing, a statement, or a payment. Where a figure matters, reconcile it against the provider invoice, which is the reason the product tracks invoice matching at all.

Acceptable use

Do not use Pharos to access provider accounts you are not authorized to access, to attempt to breach its isolation between workspaces, to resell access, or to interfere with the service’s operation.

Availability and changes

Pharos is provided as-is, without an availability commitment unless a separate written agreement states one. Features may change. Where a change removes something you rely on, we will give notice in-product before it takes effect.

Any service-level commitment, support-response commitment, and credit remedy is [NEEDS COUNSEL: SLA terms, if offered].

Fees

Plans and prices are described on the plans page. Pricing is not published at this time. Billing terms, renewal, and refund policy are [NEEDS COUNSEL: billing, renewal, and refund terms].

Ownership

You keep all rights in your data. You grant Pharos only the permission needed to operate the service for you: to retrieve, store, normalize, and display your records, and to contribute de-identified aggregates to peer cohorts where you have opted in. Pharos keeps all rights in the software.

Termination

You may close your workspace at any time. We may suspend an account for a material breach of these terms, with notice where practical. On termination, data is deleted as described in the privacy policy.

Liability and disputes

Warranty disclaimers, limitation of liability and its cap, indemnities, governing law, venue, and dispute-resolution procedure are [NEEDS COUNSEL: full liability, indemnity, governing-law and dispute clauses]. These clauses carry real financial consequence and are deliberately not drafted here.

This document was last revised on [NEEDS COUNSEL: publication date, set at review].
